The article presents a study of the monastic archive manuscripts of S. Maria degli Angeli and S. Maria Maddalena de’ Pazzi in Florence, concerning the mother Maria Maddalena Trenta, nun, and then prioress. Born in Lucca, as a secular, she met the King of Denmark, Frederick IV. She was an attentive nun and an earnest spiritual life coach in Florentine Carmel. Formed by the Jesuits, she opened her Carmel to the French spirituality of J. de Bernières-Louvigny.
